I am so sorry for what you're going through. My husband and I both suffer the tortures of the damned with Chronic Pain. Shame on the lawmakers in Florida!! And whatever happened to Accelerated Rehabilitation, where they put you on probation for a 1st offense.
I will pray for you..Jana

Jana,
Thanks for the message. Richard is in the infirmary at Zephyrhills Correctional Institution Fl. He is in good spirits since Florida Dept. of Corrections is choosing to keep his morphine pump filled. We have found the guards and the inmates alike treat Richard with respect because of what he has done and gone through. Believe me, Rich's life is not what I want it to be right now, but he lived a worse type of hell when he was unable to get pain relief. I am thankful he is not like that now. I hope you both can find courageous doctors who will treat you both to a point where you can have a life worth living.

imagine if everyone with chronic pain took it upn themselves to write their own scripts to get their meds. If he could not get his md to write his meds he should have contacted another md or pain clinic in a town next to you. I do not understand breaking the law. I have bone cancer pain and can understand the desperation but there are doctors out there if you seek them out. I just hate to see him sit in jail.

You and your husband are in my prayers. I am also a chronic pain patient and have been on the same dose of narcotic pain meds for over 6 years. Needless to say they no longer give me any relief. I have been unable to find a pain dr. that will increase my doseage to adequately treat my pain so I am forced to spend my days in bed, unable to live a halfway normal life. This is no life and the reason there are so many suicides of patients with chronic pain. I spend day after day in so much pain I wish I was dead. Why can't the DEA stop destroying the lives of those who wish to live without so much pain? My mother died recently of bone cancer and she suffered so much due to the fear of her doctor to treat her pain adequately. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE to stop this harrassment of innocent people. To the person who commented that there are doctors out there....those doctors are few and hard to find, especially to those who live with low incomes and medicare/medicaid insurance. There is such a fear now that no doctor wants to prescribe pain meds to a low income patient for fear that they will sell them. I think the DEA should bear the charges of MURDER for the patients who give up and commit suicide.

Sincerely,
Rhonda
